Ever wanted to hike a glacier? Come along glacier hiking on Sólheimajökull. Sólheimajökull is located on the south coast of Iceland. Sólheimajökull is the southwestern outlet of the Mýrdalsjökull icecap. The glacier is 8 km long and 1-2 km wide and is the most southern glacier in Iceland. It advances from Mýrdalsjökull roughly 1100 meter high and just by the volcano Katla.
You will explore deep crevasses, jagged ridges and amazing ice sculptures. The spectacular surroundings of the glacier makes it an all-in-one adventure and even visit the beautiful Skógarfoss waterfall on the way back.
